Projects implemented for Community Impact
Practical community development programs in vocational skills, agriculture, clean water, education, environment, religious support, youth advocacy, sports and entrepreneurship skills.
Our projects are designed to respond to real community needs and create long-term local impact.
Mofu Rothenburg Vocational Training Center
The center supports young people, women and community members through practical training that builds skills, confidence and income opportunities. It has operated since 2018 as both a vocational training institution and the organization’s head office.
Basic Tailoring
A six-month practical course designed to help young women and men learn tailoring and clothing repair skills. Since 2018, more than 120 beneficiaries have gained valuable vocational skills through this program.
Basic Electricians
A six-month practical electrical installation course designed to equip young people with essential technical skills for safe installations and improved employment opportunities.
Basic Masons / Bricklayers
A six-month house-building course designed to equip learners with practical masonry and bricklaying skills for the construction industry. Since 2020, more than 80 young people have benefited.
Basic Welding
A six-month practical welding course focused on foundational welding techniques and hands-on workshop skills. Since 2020, more than 70 individuals have gained technical experience.
Agricultural Training
The program promotes environmentally friendly farming, food security and sustainable livelihoods. Since 2022, it has empowered women’s groups, mixed community groups, vocational students and secondary school students.
Entrepreneurship Course
Introduced in 2026, this course empowers young women and men with income-generating skills including soap production, batik making, microfinance savings group management and other livelihood activities.

School Meals Support
The school feeding program supports six primary schools in Mofu and benefits more than 4,000 students each year, helping improve attendance, concentration and performance.
Environmental Conservation
Through the Mazingira Plus Project, more than 19,000 fruit trees and 30,000 cocoa trees are being distributed to promote conservation and sustainable agriculture.
Farmer Empowerment
More than 15 rice farming groups receive support through technical knowledge, financial assistance, warehouse development and rice milling infrastructure.

Mofu Rothenburg Vocational Training Center
Constructed through cooperation between Mofu Rothenburg Organization and Mofu Rothenburg Association of Switzerland, the center has operated since 2018 as a vocational training institution and the organization head office. It offers tailoring, electrical installation, welding, masonry, bricklaying, agricultural training and entrepreneurship skills.
Agriculture Projects
Mofu Rothenburg Organization works with more than 15 rice farming groups to promote sustainable agriculture. The organization provides financial support and technical knowledge to help farmers practice productive and environmentally friendly farming.
Water Filter Project
Ten water kiosks have been distributed to schools, the vocational training center, Ihenga Center and Mofu Mission to improve access to safe and clean water and reduce waterborne diseases.
Provision of School Meals
The organization supports school feeding programs by providing sugar and covering cooks’ salaries while parents contribute maize and rice. The project supports six primary schools in Mofu and benefits more than 4,000 students each year.
Education Support Projects
MRO supports students facing difficult circumstances by providing school fees, study materials, uniforms, school improvements and other learning resources. More than 80 students benefit annually.
Community Group Projects
Community groups such as Water for All, Jikwamue, St. Rita Group, Libeneke Group, Wahitimu Welding VTC and Mapendo receive equipment, financial assistance and capacity-building support.
Environmental Projects
The organization supports beekeeping, conservation and other sustainable development activities. Through the Mazingira Plus Project, more than 19,000 fruit trees and 30,000 cocoa trees are being distributed to villagers in Mofu.
Religious Projects
Through donor contributions, renovation and development works have supported Mofu Parish Catholic Church, the priests’ residence, the catechist’s house and local mosques in Mofu and Ihenga villages.
Strengthen Youth Voice Project
Implemented in partnership with Women’s Global Network for Reproductive Rights Africa, this project improves access to youth-friendly health information and services while empowering young people to advocate for their health and rights.
Warehouse and Rice Milling Machine
In partnership with the Lions Club of Switzerland and Matumaini-Mofu of Switzerland, the organization constructed a warehouse and installed a rice milling machine for UVIWAMO, strengthening storage, processing and income opportunities for local rice farmers.
Sports and Games
The organization supports sports and recreational activities by providing jerseys, footballs and sports shoes to local football clubs and schools. It also supports cultural groups including Libeneke Traditional Dance Group and St. Conrad Choir.
